Work Session Gets Steamers Ready For WinterLars Byrne Employees of the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad and Museum volunteers spent Saturday morning, Oct. 26, covering up parts and pieces of steam locomotives in the West Virginia Central railyard in Belington. Workers are pictured putting final touches on the West Virginia Northern No. 8 (2-8-0). Parts of the two locomotives have been placed and tarped, or put into box car storage or are in a shop awaiting immediate repair/replacement.
The boiler and frame for No. 9 is at Sistersville while the wheel assembly is at Oakland, Md. Funds must still be raised to complete the project.
