Elkins Railroad Bridge

On May 26, the first regularly scheduled passenger train since 1959 stopped in front of the Elkins Depot.

On hand for the event were the 150+ passengers, local townsfolk, railfans, and dignitaries including Elkins Mayor Judy Guye, District 37 Delegate Bill Hartman (also a WVRR Musuem Board Member), Chamber of Commerce Director Ellen Spears, and WV Railroad Musuem Board Members Diane Wade, Ed Griesel, Lars Byrne, Denver Barnett, Matt Reese, and Frank Proud.

Between the last WM scheduled passenger train in 1959 and 1975, several special railfan excursion trains did stop at the depot.
