"Fireballs Converge in Elkins"

Image Size - approximately 15” x 25”

About a year ago, we commissioned noted railroad artist Larry Fisher to create an original painting of the 1908 Elkins depot with some classic WM equipment in the yard. We picked a fall day in 1951 as this would let us show both steam and diesel locomotives, and since Elkins was known for its hopper rebuilding facilities, hoppers are the featured freight car. The Dardin Mill is shown as it was back then, and fall colors enhance the background. Featured in the painting is a WM K-2 Pacific, Coach #835, a pair of ALCO RS-2 Diesels, and an H-9 Consolidation.

Our museum is selling a limited number of prints of this fine painting as part of the ongoing fund raising endeavors, and you can soon have one hanging on your wall. There are three versions of this limited edition print, and all are signed and numbered by the artist. Only 50 Artist and 50 Publisher proofs are offered; these are the ones the art collectors treasure.

We also have a limited number of greeting cards are made up with a full color image on half of the card along with a write-up about the painting on the other half. The inside is blank allowing you to use the cards for any occasion! There are six greeting cards with white envelopes in a package.
