"Get It Done" Pledge Campaign |

We are kicking off our “Get It Done” Pledge Campaign for 2008 and we need you now more than ever to be a part of this and help us accomplish our tasks. So many of you came to our rescue last year to save the B&O Gondola and we are so very grateful. But instead of sending out ‘pleas for help’ to meet an emergency need, we need to create a flow of sustaining funds to be used for equipment, to build our shops, or be used for whatever we need to ‘get done’ first. The funds from the “Get It Done” Campaign will allow us to do this in an expedited way. Time and the Elements are our enemies and they are taking their toll on the railroad equipment we are trying to save. We desperately need a shop location to keep our equipment secure and allow us to work through the winter months. We are looking at land near the Elkins Railyard for the site of our shops since the Museum Complex we plan to build in the railyard will not be the site for our major restoration efforts. This Campaign is open to everyone, whether you are a Museum member or not. Individuals, a company or a corporation can pledge to donate on a yearly or quarterly basis and no minimum amount is required. A check, money order, or credit card can be used for your pledge each year. For those who want to budget their pledge on a quarterly basis, the amount you specify will be charged in the first part of each Quarter, and your charge receipt along with a letter thanking you for your donation will be mailed. Remember, all pledge amounts are tax deductible. Credit card information will be kept in a secure file folder with only one person having access to it. Everyone who sends in a pledge will receive our unique “Get It Done” pin designed by local artist and museum member, Dave Vago. The pin is 1.5" wide and in full color.
Additional ‘thank you’ tokens will be offered with some tokens changing each year. Pledges of $100.00 or more this year will also receive our 11 oz. “Get It Done” ceramic mug in a green marble finish displaying a Copper “Get It Done” logo.
Pledges of $500.00 or more this year will receive the above items plus an Optical Crystal cube with a laser engraved steam locomotive & tender inside.
Pledges of $1000.00 or more this year will in addition receive our “Expediter Award” Certificate with frame, and a brass engraved plate containing your name and the year you helped expedite the completion of one of our tasks. This plate is to be placed on a tie in our Railyard when our Museum Complex is built. If 200 folks budgeted $25.00 a Quarter, that would give us a good beginning of $20,000, but budgeting $75.00 a Quarter (just $25.00 a month) would bring in $60,000…. where we really need to begin!
